Alpha "Arts" Frierson is a multidisciplinary artist, saxophonist, educator, and illustrator whose work is rooted in creativity, community, and faith. Raised in Loveland, Ohio, his artistic journey spans music, visual art, and arts education. He is the author and illustrator of the Jahari's Safari children's book series, has exhibited at the Kings Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio, and received the Young Illustrators Award from Central State University.

Music has always been at the heart of Alpha's career. During the 2026 Juneteenth Celebration in Columbus, Ohio, he was invited to perform onstage alongside Grammy-nominated saxophonist Najee with other Midwest musicians. He has also toured with the Columbus Blue Jays Jazz & Funk Band and recorded with Souse Music Group, Atop Records, Kwame Kese Studios, and on the Sarah Frierson Gospel CD. He can often be seen performing live at delicious 1MOREBITE Restaurant located in Cincinnati Ohio.

Alpha's passion for music began in church, where he first performed before large audiences. His late father, Calvin James Frierson, played a pivotal role in encouraging his musical journey, while his mother, Sarah Lee Frierson, continues to inspire as a vocalist and pianist.

In addition to performing, Alpha has served as an arts programmer and teaching artist with the Cincinnati Art Association, Music to Life, and the Kennedy Heights Arts Center. Through his work in schools and community programs, he combines music, visual art, movement, and creative expression to inspire audiences of all ages.
